About Beth Sanden:

April 14th, 2002 is the day that Beth Sanden’s life changed forever.  Following her finish at the 2002 Kona Ironman triathlon, she decided to enter a local bike race.  As rider in the lead peloton, she rounded a sharp curve and her wheel hit broken asphalt and water.  Suddenly she found herself on the ground with a life-altering spinal cord injury.  Since that tragic day, Beth has tapped her inner strength and faith to become an inspiration to her friends and family, as well as able-bodied and challenged athletes alike. Beth works hard to “pay it forward” and help other challenged athletes get back in the game of life. She is now a hand-cyclist and raises money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation through her annual participation in the Half Ironman triathlon held at La Jolla Cove.

About Tracey Moore:

Tracey Moore lost her leg 10 years ago when she was run over by a train. For the past 6 years Tracey has competed in 28 triathlons, the OC marathon, 2 half marathons and 2 duathlons. Tracey took 1st place in her category at the 2008 Ford Ironman 70.3 race in Oceanside. In 2007 she became the first female amputee to complete the Envirosports Escape the Rock Alcatraz.  Today, Tracey has dedicated her life to helping others, and being of service to her community and the world.  She runs on behalf of those who cannot and God gets all the glory.
