Our last club meeting was Wednesday October 15. This meeting was designed for our new members and about 60 new members attended to hear about the great activities offered by the club and to learn about future events. We continue to look for volunteer to join the board.
At the races update- We had our club Triathlon on November 2. Full results to follow. The wet weather led to some bike crashes and we hope our injured teamates are getting better. As we head to the rainy season remember how slick the roads can be. Caroline Glynn organized our first kids triathlon and this was a wonderful event.

On August 3 we had a special CAF swim clinic organized by our member Coryn Reich. We had a strong turn out of club members to assist the challenged athletes with a swim at Corona Del Mar. Sarah Reinersten gave a great description of the special considerations for challeged athletes in open water swimming. The club's own Andy Baily made his first open water swim since his accident and loss of his right foot, and several other challenged athletes got a chance to take the plunge.

In conjunction with the CAF Swim Clinic, we had 3rd Annual Predict Your Time Swim Race! We had a tie for first place with an actual time just 2 seconds just two time off the prediction for Eric Chebbi and Coryn Reich. John Steed was 8 seconds off his predicted time and Ikuko Kay Cianci was 10 seconds off her predicted time. Chris "the fish" Davis had the fastest time of the day for the .62 mile was 13:55, Stan Gertler was second at 15:54, and Eric Chebbi and Jason Badgley at 15:58.

This is a reminder to all new members of the Orange County Tri Club. Be sure to email Luiz Payne our Uniform Coordinator at uniforms@octriclub.com. Let Luiz know that you are a new member, and also give him your uniform size. It is very important for new members to get this information to Paul, so he can order correctly. Thanks, and welcome again to all of our new members.
Upcoming Events..............
Our next club race and last club event of the year is the Dana Point Turkey Trot on November 22.
Our web site forum is a great way to get members training together for upcoming races. If you are training for something specific and want some training partners, announce it in the forum and they will come.
Not receiving club emails? If you are not receiving meeting reminders, special offers from our sponsors, renewal notices, and other important club news, chances are your email address is not functioning, invalid, or not accepting emails from the club. Take a moment to check your membership profile and verify your email address, as well as your spam filter for your email provider. I also receive a report that tells me whose email address is not allowing emails and there are currently 33 members not receiving important club information.
